Kristin Stred concentrates her practice on filling companies’ needs for particularly skilled and diplomatic members for their corporate Boards of Directors. She has successfully completed searches for Board members with strategic industry experience, public company experience and financial and investment skills. She has attracted sitting CEOs and CFOs, and recently retired executives with proven track records from around the country to the Boards of business enterprises of substantial size, usually based in the Pacific Northwest.
She also assists in searching out world-class lawyers for Puget Sound-based companies and law firms. She has successfully placed in house lawyers with expertise in technology licensing, outsourcing, social media, trademark, mergers and acquisitions, banking, employment and real estate law. She has also successfully recruited Chief Operating Officers for real estate companies and professional services firms.
Kristin joined Houser Martin Morris after having served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in two publicly-traded companies headquartered in the Northwest. As a member of the top management team of both companies, Kristin gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings of stock, real estate, management succession strategies, and Board deliberations. She has also dealt with private company boards at several points in her career. She has line experience in business as an operating vice president for the largest region of a profitable company, as well as joint venture experience, both domestic and international.
Kristin holds the NACD’s Certificate of Director Education and has served on several non-profit boards. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 1984, but has fully recovered her sense of humor.
Kristin has previously served on the Board of the Seattle Aquarium Society, the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Washington State Bar Association, and the UW Women’s Center Advisory Committee. She currently sits on the Board of Washington Dental Service, the largest dental insurer in the State of Washington.
