Our client, a Fortune 200 sized, major worldwide heavy manufacturing, American-owned corporation headquartered in the Seattle area, is looking for a “Divisional IT Director” in its north of Dallas manufacturing location.  Wall Street has long recognized this company for consistently making profits.  The corporation has made a profit each and every quarter for over the last 65+ contiguous quarters. 

The divisional IT leader will manage two of the company's plant IT managers plus one other direct report, and has 25-30 indirect reports in both plant locations, the Dallas, TX location and Nashville, TN.  This role is a senior member of the Division's leadership team and aligns the corporate IT strategy with the Division's overall business needs.  This role reports to corporate IT in the Seattle area to the # 2 person in IT under the IT General Manager....and a dotted line reporting relationship to the General Manager of the Division. 

The profile for the right candidate:

  • Is currently or recently has been an IT Director, and has 12-15 years experience.
  • Has been in IT in a large-scale manufacturing environment, (this is a MUST).
  • Has a graduate degree, preferably an MBA, (this is a MUST).
  • Has working experience in a large Fortune-sized corporation and understands "corporate culture".
  • Currently lives in the Dallas TX area or elsewhere in TX is okay for relo.
  • US Citizen or US Perm Resident.
  • This is a corporate-progression position and therefore the individual who does well in this role is a candidate for future promotions, most likely to the Seattle headquarters, therefore the right candidate must be willing to eventually relo to Seattle if promoted and transferred in the future.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Division IT Director, as a member of the Division’s senior leadership team, aligns the Information Technology strategy with the Division’s overall business needs.  As the leader of IT for the division, innovation leadership, oversight of projects and daily operations are required for success.  These responsibilities cross the division offices and multiple factory locations across North America.  Outcomes are achieved by utilizing the company's Global IT resources and collaborating with all IT division organizations.   

The Division IT Director is responsible for the delivery of all Information Technology for the Division.  The position requires leadership and experience in developing and implementing all aspects of the technical infrastructure and the underlying business processes it supports.  The candidate must be able to work in a high-pressure environment where rapid response is required. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with other company Divisions to have a single strategy and plan.
  • Lead Division strategic planning changes to enhance production systems and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of information technology requirements and priorities to the User Community. 
  • Perform management functions including budget and expense management and goal setting.
  • Oversee the delivery of operational and development end-user services for multiple sites.
  • Recruit and develop staff that enables ongoing projects, support and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Account relationship and grow revenues through development of new applications and solutions.
  • Lead teams of up to 5 developers to conduct configuration and customization projects based on company’s software suite.
  • Manage IT project resources consisting of both internal and customer staff. Internal staff can be both local and remote.
  • Supervise schedule, resources and quality.
  • Provide both internal reporting on project, risk & mitigation and external reporting to customer.

Qualifications:
